US versions of the E-Type required the flat toggle switches, UK/EU jags had the toggle switches shown above. So much sexier IMHO.

I know, but saying “their final form” was somewhat misleading. It sounded as if the metal toggle switches had appeared later!

Of course the E-Type started production with toggle switches which later became rocker switches because of US safety regs.

I have “backdated” the switch panel in one of my mid-70s Minis to one with toggle switches. I prefer not to think what they would do to my kneecaps in the event of an accident, however.
